We are glad you made it here. SOAR was created to support survivors and communities in healing after outdoor addicents. We create connections to peers, knowledge and outdoor trauma informed care.

Navigating grief or trauma can be a complicated process, it can feel isolating and we are here to let you know You are not alone.

The Vision

SOAR envisions a connected and resilient outdoor community where recreationists and professionals have access to the resources they need following emotional, physical or traumatic loss and grief in the outdoors.

Current programs

Staying connected to our communities is essential and we believe in the power of the peer to help navigate life after adventure accidents. SOAR offers:

  • Peer support groups for those who have experienced loss or trauma in the outdoors. These groups are professionally facilitated by one of SOAR’s outdoor trauma informed therapists.
  • Community Connection workshops are a place to come together and learn.
  • Provider cohort brings together therapists, practitioners, body-workers, coaches and others focused on supporting healing after outdoor accidents to ensure the best possible care for individuals and communities.
